Tóm tắt

This study focused on analyzing the maxillary teeth morphology of the Cồn Cổ Ngựa human remains (Thanh Hóa) from the excavation in 2013. The total number of tooth samples were measured and processed according the mesiodistal and buccolingual. The results showed that female teeth tended to be larger than male ones in most positions. This difference suggests the existence possibility of typical biological characteristics of the Cồn Cổ Ngựa female population. When compared with ancient and modern resident groups, the data showed that Cồn Cổ Ngựa residents had the highest similarity with Indonesian residents, Thai Neolithic and some Northern Chinese groups, reflecting the close anthropological relationship in the ancient Southeast Asia - East Asia community. Analysis of tooth body index confirmed that Cồn Cổ Ngựa residents was closest to the Mongoloid group, followed by the Europoid, while clearly separated from the Australoid group. The research results provide important evidence on the origin, ethnic relationships and anthropological diversity of ancient Vietnam residents, contributing to clarifying the process of migration, exchange and anthropological transformation in the East Asia -Southeast Asia region in prehistoric times.
