Based on the comprehensive revision of the entire collection of stone axes in the Lang Son Museum, the article identifies several groups of people from the Late Neolithic - Early Bronze Age in Lạng Sơn. In addition to the Mai Pha people, who have long been recognized, there were also the Hà Giang people and other non - Mai Pha groups. The paper has discussed settlement patterns, distribution areas, and the migration - movement of these ancient groups, with hypothetical connections to the environmental conditions of that time. It argues that there were four main settlement areas of the ancient groups, comprising the Lạng Sơn city area and its surroundings (in the middle course of the Kỳ Cùng River), which served as the long-term residential area of the Mai Pha people; the Bac Son limestone massif area, which was a temporary residence for various other groups; the Đình Lập area (upper course of the Kỳ Cùng River); and the Tràng Định area. The remains of the Hà Giang people were found in all four areas.
